In terms of football talent, Jacksonville, Fla., is one of the hotbeds in the Southeast.
The Class of 2008 was a banner recruiting cycle for Jacksonville, which produced 20 BCS signees from inside the city limits, includging current college football standouts like Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker, Florida State running back Jermaine Thomas and Boston College running back Montel Harris. And of course, the area produced the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, Florida quarterback im Tebow out of Nease High in the Class of 2006. And this year is no different, the Class of 2010 talent from this area has six players rated as four-star prospects or better by Scouts Inc. and nine prospects that have already verbally committed to BCS programs.
On Saturday, two schools that recruit the area heavily will do battle in Jacksonville for the 77th time when Florida and Georgia do battle at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
