Here are three quick notes about Auburn's recruiting class.
Looking ahead: The Tigers are poised to sign a top running back in this year's class. The nation's top RB prospect,
Michael Dyer (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Christian) is a heavy lean to Auburn.
Lache Seastrunk (Temple, Texas/Temple) is also a strong possibility and five-star prospect
Marcus Lattimore (Duncan, S.C./James F. Byrnes) had the Tigers in the lead earlier in the process and still has them in his top group and plans to make an official later this season.
In-state battle: It's been tough going in-state since Nick Saban got to Alabama, but the Tigers are doing an excellent job thus far in this class with two top 10 in-state prospects -- defensive end
LaDarius Owens (Bessemer, Ala./ Jess Lanier) and linebacker
Jawara White (Troy, Ala./Charles Hendeerson). In the 2009 cycle, the Tide signed seven of the top eight in-state prospects.
Playmakers at receiver: With Under Armour All-American
Antonio Goodwin (Atlanta, Ga./Booker T. Washington) already committed and the Tigers in excellent shape for four-star
Trovon Reed (Thibodeaux, La./Thibodeaux), the Tigers are in the process of filling big needs. Expect both players (should Reed follow through and end up at AU) to see the field early next season.
