Crimson Tide's strong legacy

Here are three quick notes about Alabama's recruiting class.

Legacy: The Crimson Tide have two players committed that have older brothers on the roster. Four-star tight end Harrison Jones' (Memphis/Evangelical Christian) older brother Barrett Jones starts on Alabama's offensive line and their father also played basketball for the Tide. Plus, defensive tackle Wilson Love's (Mountain Brook, Ala./Mountain Brook) older brother Tyler was one of the marquee prospects in Nick Saban's second Alabama class (2008).

Looking ahead: Can the Crimson Tide pull a defensive back out of South Carolina? After finishing second for C.C. Whitlock, Stephon Gilmore and DaMario Jeffery from the Palmetto State to South Carolina in the last two recruiting cycles, Alabama finds itself in another dogfight with the Gamecocks for Under Armour All-American John Fulton (Manning, S.C./Manning). However, some believe Alabama is in the driver's seat for Fulton because recruiter Burton Burns' has established in-roads in South Carolina working under Tommy Bowden at Clemson.

Great find: Much credit has to be given to Crimson Tide inside linebacker coach Sal Sunseri for finding defensive end Alfy Hill (Shallotte, N.C./West Brunswick) and beating out the in-state Tar Heels for his services. Hill was an unknown prior to the 2010 recruiting cycle and Sunseri was able to not only find him, but get him in the fold quickly. Hill is a fit for the defensive line or the "Jack" linebacker position in Alabama's defense.
