Fresno State has picked up a commitment from wide receiver Sean Alston (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Los Osos).

Alston was one of the main targets a year ago for current UCLA freshman quarterback Richard Brehaut, hauling in 16 catches for 300 yards and six touchdowns. Through the first five games this year, Alston has nearly doubled his receptions total from a year ago with 31 catches for 552 yards and seven scores.

"I actually committed over a week ago," Alston said. "I'm kind of flying below the radar so not that many people know about me. I got a call from coach Pat Hill and he offered me a scholarship.

"I talked it over with my mom later that day and decided I was ready to be a Bulldog and committed to them later that night. I camped with Fresno State last summer and really liked it there.

"The coaches gave me a tour of the campus and the facilities and I liked everything about the place. I'm going to take my official visit there in November and I'm excited about my decision, I think it's a great fit for me."

Fresno State was the first school to offer Alston. He was also hearing from Boise State, Colorado State, Northern Colorado, UNLV, Washington State and Utah State.
