Inside the trade deadline

Even though more names than usual were on the trading block, little happened before the deadline.

The Chiefs and Rams were the only teams to get value. The Chiefs traded backup nose tackle Tank Tyler to the Panthers for a fifth-round pick because they felt comfortable with Ron Edwards as their nose tackle. The Rams contemplated trading left tackle Alex Barron, according to a source, but they instead got value for linebacker Will Witherspoon (wide receiver Brandon Gibson and a fifth-round choice from the Eagles).

There was no question the Raiders, Browns and other teams had players on the market, but there wasn't much action.
