Scouts Inc. was in West Virginia on Thursday for the matchup between the Mountaineers and the Colorado Buffaloes and got a good look at a few prospects hoping to move up the board.
West Virginia QB
Jarrett Brown impressed with his overall physical skill set. He has good size (6-foot-2½, 218) and a good arm, and his release is excellent. Brown also shows good footwork and nimble feet in the pocket. He can create his own time in the pocket if needed, and without pressure in his face he shows good timing on short to intermediate routes.
We have questions about the mental side of his game, though. Brown struggles to read coverages and process defenses quickly, and needs to show more awareness when looking for hot reads. A good example of that came midway through the third quarter.
For a look at the questions facing Brown, other prospects from the West Virginia-Colorado game, a small-school defensive back on the rise and notes from around the country, become an ESPN Insider.
