Quarterback Tyler Thigpen's ability to run fits the Wildcat formation and could give him a chance to get playing time with Miami. The Dolphins acquired Thigpen from the Chiefs on Tuesday for an undisclosed 2010 draft choice. Last year, Thigpen ran a college version of the spread formation for the Chiefs. The trade signifies the Dolphins' coaching staff may not be completely sold on Chad Henne being starter.
Freeney update: Colts defensive end
Dwight Freeney is telling friends that he will try to beat the team estimate that he will miss at least two weeks with a quad injury. Freeneym a fast healer, uses some of the most advanced rehab instruments to come back quickly from leg injuries.
Lower scoring so far: Scoring was down in Week 3 to 39.375 points a game. That has taken the season average down to 41.5, 2.6 points less than last year and the slowest three-week start since 2006. There shouldn't be a panic because quarterbacks are still completing nearly 61 percent of their passes and can explode on any given Sunday.
Tough going for pass-rushers: Week 3 was a hard one for pass-rushers. There were only 53 sacks in 16 games. The league average during the first two weeks was 62.5. The three-week total of 178 sacks is the lowest since 1985. Pretty amazing when you consider
