Three Strikes: Battles for best of the '00s

It isn't just another baseball season that's rampaging down the stretch. It's another fabulous baseball decade -- the '00s. They'll be over any minute now.

So this is where we recap the Best of the '00s drama that's still at stake this week.

But first, before we continue, this is where Three Strikes has to take a moment to inform all its technicality-obsessed readers out there that, yes, we know that officially, this decade started in 2001 and will end in 2010. Please, please, please hold all those e-mails.
