Gators making a play for Irish-commit Martin

Defensive end Chris Martin (Aurora, Colo./Grandview), the No. 143 prospect on the ESPNU 150, committed to Notre Dame in February. However, the Florida Gators have not given up on Martin and would be interested in hosting him on an official visit the weekend of Nov. 28 when the Gators play Florida State. Martin is also scheduled to make an official visit to Notre Dame the weekend of Oct. 17 when the Irish play USC. In the end, I see Martin staying with his commitment to the Fighting Irish.

Illinois DE talking to Nebraska

Defensive end Chance Carter (Evanston, Ill./Loyola Academy) is primarily looking at four schools, Nebraska, Missouri, Northwestern and Cal. He said the Cornhuskers are the only one of the four that has offered a scholarship at this point.
