STRIKE ONE -- THEY WERE JUST 17 DEPT.

The Pittsburgh Pirates haven't had a winning season since 1992. Think about that.

The American League Rookie of the Year that season was Pat Listach -- and he's been retired for 12 years.

Frank Seminara got a vote for National League Rookie of the Year that year -- and he's been retired for 15 years.

Bob Hope won an Emmy in 1992. Jack Palance won an Oscar in 1992. So it was a long, long, lonnnggg time ago. And the Pirates haven't had a winning season since. You might have heard about that.
