Plenty impress at LeBron James Skills Academy

Working at the Nike Skills Academy the last few summers has been a great experience for me. It's allowed me to stay close to something I've done my whole adult life: coach basketball. And coaching some of the best high school and college players in the country is not something I take lightly.

Being a part of the excellent coaching staff that Nike puts together underscores, for me, the importance of the skill development of our country's best young players. It especially hits home for me because of the time I spend overseas watching the way international players are attacking the game of basketball and are closing the gap on the best young players in the U.S..

My colleague at ESPN, Jay Bilas, was absolutely correct when he mentioned that most high school stars don't understand the amount of work that goes into taking their game to the college level. Often times success can come easy to high school superstars because of the natural talent they are blessed with.
