Scouting Michigan State-UConn

After watching a ton of tape, obtaining some actual scouting reports and conferring with two coaches who prepared for each of the Final Four teams, I have compiled a rough personnel scouting report. The basic idea behind a personnel report is to give a player as much information as possible on opposing players' tendencies prior to the game, without overloading the info or losing the effectiveness of such a guide. The following is a trimmed-down version (it might only be one-half its depth) of what each player might hold in their hands as they prepare for Saturday night's showdowns in Motown.

The basic criteria I tried to follow was to give a general list of the attributes of each player, while highlighting the most likely way to be beaten by such a player and the way for that player to be taken out of his game. Try and read this as if you were the opposing team prepping for the semifinal. We'll start with Connecticut and Michigan State. Make sure to come back Thursday for reports on North Carolina and Villanova.
