Ten things we've learned this season

With only four weeks until Selection Sunday, it's a fitting time to count down 10 things we've learned so far this season.

10. Russ Pennell is doing one heck of a job. While the cupboard at Arizona was not left bare, it needs to be stated that Pennell -- whose only head coaching experience was at the AAU level after losing his job as an assistant at Arizona State -- has gotten this Wildcat group to play together and play hard. Nic Wise lit up USC for 27 on Thursday night, and if Zona can beat UCLA at home Saturday, the Cats will essentially be a lock to go to the Dance. Pennell won't keep this job -- at least as head coach -- but so what? Look what Andy Kennedy was able to parlay (the Ole Miss job) out of his interim tenure at Cincinnati. Pennell took the offer Mike Dunlap turned down and ran with it.
