Who's really in on CC?

If the Yankees, as expected, come roaring out of the free-agent blocks, offering CC Sabathia a six-year deal in the neighborhood of $140 million, how many teams can possibly even hang in there with them in the CC Derby?

The Dodgers? "I don't think they have the money to go that deep," said an executive of one club who knows owner Frank McCourt well. Our follow-up question: That deep in years or in dollars? "Both," the exec said.

The Angels? Possibly, if Scott Boras aggravates them enough to abandon their pursuit of Mark Teixeira. But Teixeira is clearly the guy they're prioritizing -- not Sabathia. And they're not going to sign both of them.
