No closer, no worries for Rays

• That the Red Sox have rolled back a plan to raise ticket prices sent a ripple throughout the sport Wednesday. "If the Red Sox [freeze ticket prices] -- the Red Sox! -- what does that say about where the rest of us are going to be in a few months," said one general manager. Said another GM: "I think by the end of the winter, I'd say 20 teams are going to be impacted by this [in on-field personnel decisions]."

Dan Shaughnessy says this decision by the Red Sox was a good idea. Larry Lucchino explained the decision to Richard Sandomir.
