Much has been said and written about Lute Olson over the past week, and rightfully so. He has been one of the game's greatest coaches, and has set a standard of excellence that few others can match. But, because of the manner in which his illustrious career came to an end, some have questioned whether Olson damaged his reputation and legacy by hanging on too long.
Olson clearly hung on a year too long, and was not the same person over his last months with Arizona. But, did he really diminish his reputation and legacy? I say no.
