Top 60 draft prospects for 2009

With summer ball over for the draft class of 2009, here's a ranking of the top talents for next year's draft to tide everyone over through the offseason. As always, this is not a prediction or a consensus ranking, but the result of my own evaluations of players across the summer and spring.

RHP Tanner Scheppers, late of Fresno State, isn't on the above list because in the absence of firm medical information and in the wake of reports he threw poorly for the Pirates before the signing deadline, I can't include him. A fully healthy Scheppers would rank in the top 10-12 spots, probably around No. 9 or No. 10.
