Grading the deadline acquisitions

At the trade deadline in 2007, I remember saying and writing that the Boston Red Sox were the biggest winners because they had gotten the best shutdown reliever available, a former Cy Young Award winner with impeccable credentials and the kind of experience needed to respond in a pennant race. And Eric Gagne went out and racked up your basic 6.75 ERA in 18 2/3 innings, allowing about two baserunners per inning.

So it's worth checking back on some of those moved before the trade deadline (and after), and rendering some interim grades:
