An injury-filled weekend for several contenders

It was as if a rogue wave of injuries smashed against the contenders this weekend, reaching the Minnesota Twins first, when Michael Cuddyer suffered a broken foot on a freak play on Friday, and lastly hitting the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday night, when Chris Carpenter walked off the mound with an arm injury.

He claims to have witnessed the Commodores' winning football season in 1982 (although anthropologists have not yet confirmed this).
