Three Strikes: Pounds and pounds and …

Here at Three Strikes, we can't let an action-packed holiday weekend like this one pass without, well, weighing in on it. So here goes:

STRIKE ONE -- HEAVYWEIGHT DEPT.: Pound for pound, there can't possibly be a bigger trade this year than the deal that sent CC (Don't Call Me C.C.) Sabathia to the Brewers. And I mean that with every ounce of CC's being -- all 290 pounds of it.

According to the theoretically trustworthy scales of Sabathia's old team, the Indians, this man is the first 290-pound pitcher since the immortal Jumbo Brown, whose 295-pound scale deposit back in the 1920s, '30s and '40s made him (officially, at least) the heaviest pitcher in history.
