Cuban crisis: Will they let him in?

Mark Cuban says he will pull out all stops to buy the Cubs. Mentioned here last month, it seems more than a coincidence that in recent months the oft-quoted and brash Cuban seems to have been quoted a lot less lately. If baseball owners ever considered allowing Cuban into their club, they would have to receive a whole lot of assurances that he would not be a chronic boat-rocker.

The sport is thriving financially, they're all doing very well and the last thing they need is another owner to come on board and shake things up.

Given the politics of the baseball owners, you'd have to think that Jerry Reinsdorf, the owner of the White Sox, is going to have enormous influence in determining whether Cuban has a chance to be the Cubs owner, in the same way that a Senate committee chairman has power over a legislative bill.
