Two players have generated a ton of discussion because of their talent and their ability to make plays.

Mike Taylor was dismissed from Iowa State a year ago and has clearly improved his game to the point where he has a good shot to be the first NBDL player drafted. Taylor is 6-foot-2 with a great first step, and he has the ability to go into the lane and throw down on far bigger players.

He spent this season with the Idaho Stampede in the D-League, where a friend and former coach of mine, Brian Gates, took him under his wing. Gates believes that Taylor can absolutely make an NBA team, as did two scouts I talked to before he went for 24 in a nice back-and-forth game against DeMarcus Nelson (22 points). Taylor is thin, wiry strong and can play both guard spots.
