Why Cubs might want Crisp

The Cubs talked to the Rangers during the winter about Marlon Byrd, and now Nick Cafardo is reporting that they are eyeing Boston center fielder Coco Crisp. We don't know if the Cubs are going to get the center fielder they want, but if you piece all this together, it indicates that Chicago is very unsure about whether Felix Pie or Sam Fuld is ready to take over in center field now. Right now, Pie is playing better than Fuld, writes Paul Sullivan, but that doesn't necessarily mean Pie is going to be The Man on Opening Day.
