Bonds makes sense for Rays

The Rays are weighing the possibility of pursuing Barry Bonds, writes Marc Topkin.

Bonds does make a whole lot of sense for Tampa Bay, in so many ways. I wrote about this last fall, and at that time was told that the Rays probably wouldn't want Bonds as the centerpiece presence in a clubhouse loaded with young players.

But here's why you could understand how this might happen:

He claims to have witnessed the Commodores' winning football season in 1982 (although anthropologists have not yet confirmed this).
