Philip Rivers left Sunday's game against the Colts with an MCL injury, backup QB
Billy Volek came in and the Chargers' faithful held their collective breath. Remarkably, Volek marched the Chargers down the field on a game-winning drive and he was the one who dove across the goal line. There is a chance Volek could be starter this Sunday as well, because Rivers has missed practices and is struggling to recover.

In his eight year career, Volek has started just 10 games, but is a suitable backup who can come off the bench and spark his offense, which he proved against Indianapolis. He reads a defense well pre-snap and has a good feel for the pocket and where everyone is on the field. Volek makes good decisions with the football and has a very solid understanding of the game and scheme.
