It's been a while, but I've got a ton of short attention-span type topics I wanted to talk about after a rather event-filled Wednesday night, making it a perfect day for the blog. Let's see how much we can cover in five sentences or less:
• First of all, next time you see a player trying a lay-up from the left side while going toward the Hawks' bench at Philips Arena, cross your fingers. Alonzo Mourning's likely career-ending injury last night happened in virtually the exact same spot as T.J. Ford's neck injury just a week earlier. In true 'Zo spirit, he got up off the stretcher and limped off himself, knowing it was probably the final time. If he wanted, however, there's enough time for healing that he could probably pull a Barkley and play two ceremonial minutes in the Heat's final home game ... one that, I'm sad to say, is almost certain to be meaningless.
