The Hall of Fame voting packet is contained within a thick brown envelope, which, this year, is closed with the help of a couple of pieces of Scotch tape. Within the envelope, there is a six-page summary -- three sheets of paper, with the writing on front and back -- of the accomplishments of this year's candidates. And those sheets are stapled together with a one-page summary of last year's voting.
There is a letter folded inside the envelope, a letter from Dale Petrosky, the president of the Hall of Fame and, at the end, he sends best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season. On the reverse side, the BBWAA rules for election to the National Baseball Hall of Fame are printed.
