Now that JaMarcus Russell has been put on the active roster from the exempt list, the Raiders have figured out their quarterback plans for the season. They informed Andrew Walter that they will try to trade him, eventually trimming the number of quarterbacks on the roster to three.
To make room for Russell, the Raiders released cornerback
Duane Starks on Monday. Head coach Lane Kiffin didn't say who would be starting at quarterback this week, but
Daunte Culpepper would appear to be the likely candidate.
Josh McCown is limping around on a foot injury that caused him to miss most of the second half of Sunday's victory over the Browns. If the Raiders move Walter in the next week or so and McCown can't play, Russell would end up being the No. 2 quarterback temporarily.
