There was a strong reaction to Wednesday's list about the greatest quotes in college football history. There were multiple selections about a few head coaches. My top two were from Joe Paterno and Steve Spurrier:
Sean in New Orleans: "How could Nixon know so little about Watergate and so much about football?"
-- Joe Paterno, after Nixon decided on Texas to win the national championship, despite Penn State going undefeated and winning its 30th consecutive game.
Hamilton in Birmingham, Ala.: Don't forget Joe Pa's 2-parter. When asked why he doesn't retire [this was years ago], he said, "I can't leave college football to the Barry Switzers and Jackie Sherrills of the world." When asked later about this quote, he said, "I would like to apologize to Barry Switzer."
