OK, I know I've been on my steroids/NFL-alums-are-getting-screwed high horse
the past two months. So this blog will be a little lighter. In the course of
writing Magazine stories the past six years, I've seen and heard some random
stuff from athletes: Personality quirks or traits, interesting facts, stuff
that doesn't fit into the article. So here's a collection of those notes,
focusing on athletes, coaches, teams, other football writers, and more.
• When Ravens All-Pro NT/DT Kelly Gregg flips open his cell phone, he sees a
picture he took of a frosty mug of beer from his favorite bar in Edmond, Okla.
• Seahawks DE Patrick Kerney owns a guitar but knows only one song: "Every
Rose Has Its Thorn." I taught him "Atlantic City," but I don't think he has it down yet.
