After breezing through the pre-Christmas schedule, the Ducks have suddenly been hit with several significant injuries. At the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., on New Year's Eve, star defenseman Chris Pronger was the latest to hit the list.
Pronger, who leads all defenseman with 33 assists and 41 points, suffered a broken left foot as a result of a shot off the blade of Wild winger Mark Parrish in the first period of the Ducks' 4-3 loss. Parrish's shot, according the Pronger, wasn't that hard of a shot, but it caught him in the wrong spot. Over the past week, that's par for the course for Western Conference-leading Anaheim.
