Here's what I've learned this week about the NFL: Jason Taylor might have more guts than anyone in the game.

The other day, Taylor, who's about to end the best season of his career, went public with his complaint that allowing Shawne Merriman, who was suspended for steroids this season, to play in the Pro Bowl was sending the wrong message. Then on Thursday, he took it a step further: He wants to see lifetime bans for steroids.

"You'd stop it, wouldn't you?" Taylor said. "I guarantee you'd stop it. I'm not the smartest man in the world, but I know if you did that, it would stop. There's a way to end this whole steroid situation: If you get caught using steroids or performance-enhancing drugs, you can't play the game anymore. It's as simple as that."
