Going into the game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, the Jacksonville Jaguars had a simple game plan. They wanted to run the ball, then run some more and throw the ball in selected situations just to keep the Colts' secondary honest. The only question was whether or not they could contain Indianapolis' quarterback Peyton Manning and his corps of receivers.
After holding the Colts to a three and out on their first possession, the Jaguars wasted no time in making a statement. Running back
Fred Taylor ran up the middle for 76 yards followed by his backup,
Maurice Jones-Drew, gaining another 18 yards for a touchdown. Two run plays and 94 yards later, Jacksonville had a 7-0 lead, Jacksonville. After being held for the next three series, the Jaguars took off in the second quarter.
