Injuries taking toll on Rams

Injuries have taken their toll on the St. Louis Rams. The Rams began the season with a surprising 4-1 record and then went on an unfortunate five-game losing streak and are now 5-7 and on the outside looking in for a potential playoff berth. Much of this can be attributed to their unfortunate ring of injuries that have decimated almost every position for the Rams.

It began in Week 1 when the Rams lost veteran offensive center Andy McCollum for the season with a knee injury. This caused a major sift in the offensive line makeup and the Rams played well until losing All-Pro offensive tackle Orlando Pace with a triceps injury. While the Rams played well enough to acquire such a strong early season record, it would not be long before injuries began to creep over to the defensive side of the ball. In Week 2, linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa injured his elbow and that was followed by a hand injury which casued him to miss two games. The list goes on and on with key injuries to running back Tony Fisher and cornerback Travis Fisher, both of whom were lost for the season with their injuries. Other notable key injuries sustained by CB Fakhir Brown, LB Isaiah Kacyvenski and DE Victor Adeyanju have also served as a factor in the five-game losing streak.
