MIAMI -- I've attended five funerals in my life and dreaded each. Tuesday's service for slain Miami defensive tackle Bryan Pata was an emotional outpouring of grief I've never seen.
A week after Pata was shot and killed outside his apartment, his family, teammates, coaches and friends gathered Tuesday to remember him at New Birth Cathedral of Faith, a mammoth church in the northern suburb of Opa-locka.The main sanctuary had a capacity of more than 1,900 and it couldn't hold the flock of grieving people.
