October's a whole new ball game

One thing we've never figured out about October is: How come stuff happens in the postseason that never (or even almost never) happened in the regular season?

Goes on all the time, though, every darned October. And the LDS was no different. Just look:

• Johan Santana started 17 games in the Metrodome during the regular season, and the Twins won every one of them. He started one game there in the postseason -- and lost.
