Jinxing Cla Meredith

I know the rules. I know ballplayers riding hot streaks don't like to hear the details. But hey, I messed up, I inadvertently violated the rules, and now I think Cla Meredith might think I jinxed him yesterday.

Chris Young came up big for the Padres, and a late-inning pinch-hit may have prevent Meredith from forever thinking of me as bad luck.

It may be that Meredith doesn't even recall our conversation. It may be that he thinks of superstitions as a fun but irrelevant, in the end, as I do.

He claims to have witnessed the Commodores' winning football season in 1982 (although anthropologists have not yet confirmed this).
