Friday we looked at how many rookies made opening day rosters around the AFC South. So how did this division's rookie class play in Week 1?

Houston Texans: Starting left tackle Charles Spencer looked lost at times. He gave up two sacks to LB Trent Cole and was rather ineffective. Tight end Owen Daniels had no catches and was not very effective blocking. Running back Wali Lundi had 32 yards on 11 carries (2.9 per attempt), which is nothing to get excited about.

Defensive end Mario Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, had two tackles and one assist and never really pressured Eagles QB Donovan McNabb. He looked confused at times and really needs to stay out at end rather than sliding inside to tackle in situations. Linebacker DeMeco Ryans was strong in the middle, leading his team in tackles with 12. He could be Houston's most effective rookie this year.
