Catching up with Mike DeBord

Mike DeBord was Michigan's offensive coordinator in 1997, when the Wolverines were crowned national champions. After a stint as head coach at Central Michigan, DeBord returned to Michigan, but his old job had been filled.

After a five-loss season last year though, Lloyd Carr allowed both of his coordinators, including Terry Malone, to depart. This cleared the way for DeBord to vacate his role as special teams coach/recruiting coordinator and take on, once again, the hot seat of Michigan play-caller.

What exactly Michigan's offense will look like this season is a bit of a mystery. He told me I'd have to instruct my good friend Ron, the most diehard of Wolverines' fans, to tune into the opener to see changes.
