Angels hanging around in AL West

The important thing for the Angels is that they survived. They had a streak where they lost 18 of 23 games, they led the league in allowing unearned runs, and in late May they were last in the league in runs scored. Not coincidentally, they had a team on-base percentage of .298.
But Oakland was beaten up and using pitchers who pan out in Triple-A Sacramento. The Rangers' bullpen had blown seven early games, and their starting pitching was a work in progress.
