Leinart still has plenty of critics

Figured it's been a while since I took some questions from You The Reader, so here's a Pre-Draft mailbag ...

Matt from Indianapolis: I understand what you are saying about Leinart. His resume is most impressive, but some of the most successful QBs in NFL history haven't had storied college careers. Elway never even made a bowl game, right? Brady wasn't even the full-time starter. The point is that it doesn't necessarily matter what kind of numbers someone put up in college, or how good their team was -- it all comes down to that "it" factor.

I think that Leinart has got it, but I agree with Chris Mortensen when he suggested what Jay Cutler could have done with USC's talent, or even Kyle Orton in 2004 ... and we all see how stellar he was for the Bears in 2005 (although that wasn't necessarily all his fault). Leinart probably is the King of the Draft this year, but let's not anoint him just yet, especially when he'll be situated behind a less than stellar offensive line and handing off to the fearsome duo of Brown/Henry and throwing to Courtney Roby.
