Spring revelations

I'm filing this week's list from West Virginia. Obviously, many schools are still knee-deep in spring ball, so I'll save a few other recap-type lists for later this month. This week's topic: biggest revelations.

1. Cory Boyd, RB, South Carolina: Folks around the Gamecocks program have always known about Boyd's explosiveness and speed. After all, he was the program's Freshman of the Year in 2003 and S.C.'s second-leading rusher and receiver in '04, but then he drifted off the radar. The 210-pounder was suspended from the team for violation of athletics department rules. Then he considered transferring, but decided against it because he didn't want to sit out. Boyd met with Steve Spurrier and his coaching staff last fall, and they challenged him to lead the scout team in practice. Boyd ran with that opportunity. Literally.
