Barry being avoided

SAN FRANCISCO -- Even though Barry Bonds is a mere 2-for-12 with no home runs and no RBI, don't start planning a retirement ceremony for the seven-time Most Valuable Player just yet. In this case, the numbers do lie. While Bonds is batting .167, he does have seven walks.

"It is the same thing," Giants manager Felipe Alou said. "He is not getting any pitches to hit."

And fortunately for the Giants, Bonds is receiving plenty of support from his teammates.
