SAN DIEGO -- One look at the stat sheet and UCLA coach Ben Howland could tell the outcome: The Bruins had lost.
Only they didn't. Despite missing six straight free throws down the stretch, despite getting outrebounded 30-21, despite allowing Alabama to shoot 61 percent from the floor in the first half, and despite shooting 13 free throws compared to Alabama's 25, UCLA won 62-59 Saturday night.
"All those stats went against us, and to still go out and win is pretty impressive," Howland said.
