USC recruits shine at B2G
CB Chris Hawkins, a USC commit, is working despite injury

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- About midway through the morning session at the B2G Elite Camp on Friday, cornerback Chris Hawkins (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga) asked a fellow defensive back for an odd favor. It was a simple, yet puzzling request, but one that surely shed light on Hawkins' competitive fire.
"Come at me," Hawkins said to a player nearby, motioning with his left arm during a break in seven-on-seven action.
The USC commit took his defensive stance and braced himself for impact as friend Devin Holiday (San Marcos, Calif./Mission Hills) raced towards him. It was a particularly sketchy sequence given that Hawkins had his right thumb heavily wrapped as a result of an injury earlier in the week.
