Matt Barkley is back, but the Trojans' "A" game isn't.
As reassuring as it was to see USC's quarterback perform like a Heisman Trophy candidate again and to have Lane Kiffin remember his guys actually are capable of throwing and catching long passes, the lingering feeling after the 38-28 victory at Utah was that we still haven't seen this team play anywhere near its capabilities.
Did it show character coming back from that near-disastrous 0-14 start? Check. Did its underrated defense dispense yet another solid game? Check.
Outside of quarterback Matt Barkley, USC wasn't at its best against Utah before pulling out the win. As the scheduled gets tougher, the Trojans need to be, too.
