LOS ANGELES -- If you want to be the starting quarterback at USC, the game plan seems simple.
You play your high school football at Mater Dei High School in nearby Orange County. First there was Matt Leinart, who was a three-time All-American and Heisman Trophy winner. Then there was Matt Barkley, the current poster boy who is returning for his senior season with the Trojans as the unofficial frontrunner for the 2012 Heisman.
And now there is ... Max Wittek?
Max Wittek ably followed Matt Barkley's footsteps at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei High School. He hopes to position himself this spring to do it again at USC.
