LOS ANGELES -- While there are different variations of the spread offense, the one thing they have in common is speed.

Over the past 10 years or so, the spread has evolved and been effectively executed by college teams all over the country.

With Oregon's offense being so quick and explosive, and now with Washington State hiring Mike Leach as head coach and Arizona hiring Rich Rodriguez, the Pac-12 is evolving into a spread conference.
