Quick hitters: Woods USC's early MVP
USC sophomore has a dozen more catches than the No. 2 WR in the nation

They're only opinions, but at least they're all mine:
• After five games, my Trojans MVP is Robert Woods. Matt Barkley would be second, with any number of candidates at No. 3, which could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.
• The real BCS title game won't be in January. It will be Nov. 5 when LSU plays at Alabama. And it isn't because those two teams have the flashiest, highest-scoring offenses in the country. It is because they have the two best defenses.
