The difficult part now isn't looking back. It is looking ahead. If you are a USC football fan today, how can you be excited? How can you look forward to 2013 when the tattered remains of 2012 can still be seen, blowing in the sad aftermath of those gusty winds in the Sun Bowl?
Unless Athletic Director Pat Haden has a sudden change of heart, what you saw in El Paso is what you're likely to get back in L.A. -- a once-proud program in sad disarray.
